Valleyview, Alberta – On January 8th at 1:31 a.m.,  the Valleyview RCMP responded to a robbery in progress on Highway 43 west of Valleyview.  Police located the victim who told police that he had stopped his snowplow to assist motorists that had hit the ditch in the truck they were driving. One of the truck occupants,  assaulted the snow plow driver and tried to steal his snow plow. The snowplow was not taken, or damaged.

Jake Goodswimmer, 26 years old, of Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation, Alberta has been charged with multiple offences including:

  • ·Robbery
  • ·Assault Causing Bodily Harm
  • ·Uttering Threats
  • ·Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle
  • ·Driving While Disqualified

The Valleyview RCMP wants to commend the snowplow driver for trying to render assistance to other motorist(s) in temperatures below -25 degrees Celsius weather.
