On June 20 around 3 p.m., Slave Lake RCMP received a report that Francis Nanemahoo had been located deceased in the Sawridge Creek in the Town of Slave Lake.

An autopsy is expected to be completed on June 23 at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton. Slave Lake RCMP General Investigation Section has carriage of the investigation into Francis Nanemahoo’s death and no further information will be provided at this time pending autopsy.

The Slave Lake RCMP is seeking the public's assistance in locating and providing any information regarding missing person, Francis Nanemahoo. 

On June 14 at 2:00 p.m., the RCMP received a call from a family member reporting Francis as missing. 

Francis is known to frequent the areas of Slave Lake, Wabasca, and Calling Lake. Witnesses report that he was last seen on June 13 at 3:00 p.m. Any information known about Francis’s whereabouts, please contact the Slave Lake detachment.

Francis is described as 28 year old male, 5'9" tall, 160lbs, with black hair and brown eyes, and last seen with goatee style facial hair.
