Sept. 25:

Hinton RCMP are requesting public assistance to locate 36-year-old Preston Pointe Deveny, currently of no fixed address.  

Hinton RCMP have charged Deveny in relation to an incident that occurred on June 14, and a warrant for his arrest continues to be in effect. 

As a result of a previous criminal charge, Deveny was out in the community awaiting court on a number of conditions of release. On June 14,  Preston Deveny was in breach of one of those conditions of release.

Deveny is believed to have been seen in Hinton this morning, on Sept. 25, and Hinton RCMP are actively looking for him in the community and surrounding area. It is notable that Deveny is known to be comfortable in rural settings and may have continued outside Hinton. 

Hinton RCMP are asking the public's assistance for any information in relation to Deveny’s whereabouts. The public are cautioned not to approach Preston Deveny, but to contact the Hinton RCMP at 780-865-2455, 911 or your local police.

Hinton RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance to locate 36-year old Preston Pointe Deveny of Fort St. James, British Columbia. Hinton RCMP received reports of Deveny in the town of Hinton on June 27, 2020. He was spotted near MacLeod Avenue and Mountain Street around 11:30 a.m., and then again around 12:00 p.m. near Carmichael Lane and Meier Street. Despite attempts, Hinton RCMP have been unable to locate him. 

Preston Pointe Deveny (36) is described as: 

  • Caucasian
  • 6’0’’ tall
  • 200 lbs
  • Green eyes
  • Brown hair

Deveny was last seen wearing a green fishing hat, grey long sleeve shirt, and black pants. He is believed to still be in the Hinton area, possibly in an older model blue coloured car, as seen on video surveillance today.
