The City of Grande Prairie Youth Council Open Mic event originally scheduled for Wednesday, October 24 has been rescheduled to Wednesday, November 7 and will now take place at Tito’s Restaurant.

The event is taking place to recruit new members as applications open for the 2019 year. It is a great opportunity to perform, enjoy local artists, play games and learn more about the Youth Council. The event is free to attend and open to the public.

Applications will be available at the event for youth ages 13-24 interested in applying to join the team for the 2019 year. An online application is also available at cityofgp.com/youthcouncil for anyone interested in applying but unable to attend.

The deadline to apply for the City of Grande Prairie Youth Council is Friday, November 16.

Established in 2010, the City of Grande Prairie Youth Council is a volunteer advisory committee that meets regularly to connect youth with the local government, community organizations and each other. It meets regularly to advocate for initiatives and issues affecting young people and to influence local policy and decision-making.
