The City of Grande Prairie is hosting free Universal Children’s Day celebrations on Tuesday, November 20 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Eastlink Centre Fieldhouse.

Celebrations include children’s activities, games and giveaways. Parents can also learn about the many services and recreational programs available in our community for children. This is a great opportunity for parents or caregivers to learn more about upcoming winter events, day camps and programs.

Businesses or organizations looking to support the event through door prize donations can contact Hayley Kramps, Programming and Events Supervisor, Dave Barr Community Centre at hkramps@cityofgp.com or by phone at 780-357-8728.

Children’s Day is an annual event on November 20 to celebrate children’s rights. The commemorative day was declared by the United Nation in 1954 and marks the anniversary of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. It is an opportunity for families, businesses and government to advocate, promote and celebrate children's rights in an effort to build thriving communities and bright futures for our children.
