A 56-year-old male is facing a Criminal Code charge after his vehicle was stopped for a seatbelt violation on June 22, 2019.

On June 22, 2019, in the evening around 10:00 p.m., an RCMP Integrated Traffic Services member was on patrol in the village of Hythe when he observed a seatbelt infraction on a passing SUV. During the traffic stop it was learned the driver was prohibited from driving Canada wide.

Wesley Russell Laglace is facing a charge of Operating a Conveyance while Prohibited contrary to the Criminal Code and an occupant restraint violation ticket under the Vehicle Equipment Regulations.

Laglace was released from custody to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on July 29, 2019.
