Following a lengthy investigation, on June 12 Beaverlodge Detachment’s enhanced unit and general duty members, with the assistance of the Grande Prairie RCMP Police Dog Services and the Western Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit, executed a search warrant at a property near Valhalla. 

During the execution of the search warrant, three persons were arrested on the property.  The search resulted in the seizure of stolen license plates, stolen cheques, firearms (shotgun, rifle), weapons (knives, bear spray, crossbow, air pistol), controlled substances, and tools.   

Teri Tulokas-Hatton, 30, and Thomas Burt, 32, of Valhalla Centre, have been jointly charged with seven counts of stolen property of a value under $5,000, possession of a controlled substance – fentanyl, two count of possession of a firearm without being a holder of a license, and two counts of possession of a firearm knowing that he was not the holder of a license. 

Teri Tulokas-Hatton has also been charged with three counts of possession of a firearm while prohibited and eight counts of failing to comply with conditions of release. 

Following judicial hearings, both Tulokas-Hatton and Burt were remanded and are scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on June 22.
