Alberta has added 461 new cases of COVID-19 today (Jan. 28), from about 12,300 tests completed, for a positivity rate of about 3.9%.

Right now, 8,041 cases are active in the province. With 616 more people recovering, the recovered total has reached 113,174.

There’s 591 people in the hospital with the virus, with 112 of these in intensive care. This is 13 fewer hospitalizations than reported yesterday, and two more ICU admissions. In the North Zone, there’s 68 people in the hospital with eight of these admitted to intensive care.

Alberta has reported 7 more COVID-related deaths, for a total of 1,606 since the start of the pandemic.

There have now been 102,524 vaccine doses administered. More than 12,000 people have received both doses.

In the City of Grande Prairie, 12 new cases were added, and 20 people recovered. The active total is 152 with 972 recoveries.

In the County of Grande Prairie, three new cases were added today, and one person recovered. There’s now 45 active cases and 292 recoveries.
