Prime Minister Justin Trudeau held a press conference today to update Canadians on measure taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Moving forward, entry to Canada will be denied to anyone who is not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

Some exemptions are in place, including for diplomats, air crews, relatives of Canadian citizens, and U.S. citizens.

Air operators are now mandated to disallow those exhibiting flu-like symptoms from boarding planes.

Anyone exhibiting symptoms will not be allowed into the country.

Starting Thursday, March 18th, only four airports will allow international flights: Pearson International Airport, Vancouver International Airport, Montreal Trudeau Airport and Calgary International Airport.

Domestic flights, as well as flights from the U.S., Mexico, and the Caribbean will be unaffected.

Commerce and trade are exempt, and the flow of goods into the country will continue.

Additionally, $10 billion in support will be made available to Canadian businesses.
