The Town of Beaverlodge has closed several facilities in response to the COVID-19 situation, including the Beaverlodge Public Library, recreation facility, public works shop, water treatment plant, and FCSS Program.

They also provide this additional information:

Beaverlodge FCSS staff will not be seeing clients directly, this includes walk-ins or booked appointments, Food Bank as well as the Volunteer Income Tax Program. Staff will still be available by phone at (780) 354-2204 or (780) 354-4180 if you have questions or concerns. We want clients to know that the Government has extended the deadline to file income tax to June 1, 2020. Also, if you require emergency support from the Food Bank please call the above listed numbers on Monday’s to make alternate arrangements.

The FCSS Home Support Program also remains closed at this time. Staff are not going into homes or Amisk Court. We will continue to re-evaluate and make decisions as we can. We appreciate your patience as we move forward with this delivery of service and we will be making decisions about our program day by day.

The Beaverlodge Recreation Center is closed to the public effective immediately as of Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 3:00pm. Staff are currently working on details to provide compensation during the closure. If you are currently enrolled in a program the Recreation staff will be in contact with you within the next week. If there are any questions or concerns about the lessons and programming cancelation please call The Beaverlodge Recreation Center at 780-354-2203 Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.

ALL essential services will remain operational during the closure. There will not be a disruption in the services Public Works, or the Water Treatment Plant provide.

The Town will continue to monitor the situation as it evolves and will take direction from Alberta Health and the Provincial and Federal Governments. As always, we encourage all residents to be prudent and follow the advice from Alberta Health Services on how to protect themselves and their families.
