In the City of Grande Prairie, six new COVID-19 cases were reported today (March 18), and 30 people recovered. The active total is 138 with 1693 recoveries.

In the County of Grande Prairie, no new cases were added, and four people recovered. There’s now 58 active cases and 483 recoveries.

Peace Region totals:

Provincially, Alberta has reported 505 new cases from 10,934 tests completed and our positivity rate sits at 4.6 per cent. Right now, 5,084 cases are active in the province. With 338 more people recovering, the recovered total has reached 133,086.

There’s 264 people in the hospital with the virus, with 43 of these in intensive care. This is two more hospitalizations than reported yesterday, and one fewer ICU admission. In the North Zone, there’s 30 people in the hospital with four of these admitted to intensive care.

Alberta has reported one more COVID-related death, for a total of 1,957 since the start of the pandemic.

Ninety-one more variant cases of COVID-19 have been found for a total of 1,188. There have been 17 total found in the North Zone since testing for the variants began.

There have now been 418,663 vaccine doses administered, with 92,378 people fully immunized with two doses.
