The 34th Fiddlers’ Jamboree is coming up on April 2, 2023, at the Northwestern Polytechnic.

This year’s event will feature many performers from all over Alberta, including a local Irish Dance Troupe.

Stacey Batt, Event and Volunteer Coordinator with the City of Grande Prairie says, “The Irish Dance Troupe will be doing some jigging alongside the fiddlers. Up until now, we've had a few individual jiggers join us over the years, but this will be one of the first times that we have a larger group.”

Another highlight of this year’s Fiddlers’ Jamboree will see the return of a large family band that has been playing for many years. Batt says, “You know, it's kind of gone through their generation, so they're gonna be showing off some talent and have quite a large group as well.”

The show will also feature a group that’s primarily younger students, so you’ll get to see some younger performers.

This will be the first year the city will be running the Fiddlers’ Jamboree since 2019, and Batt says, “We’re very excited to be bringing it back.”
