Today (Jan. 7), Alberta has added 968 new cases of COVID-19 from 14,833 tests completed. 

Twenty-four more deaths were reported today, for a total of 1,217 since the start of pandemic. 

There are now 13,298 active cases in the province and 93,954 recoveries. Of these recoveries, 1,096 are new.  

Hospitalizations have gone down today, with 871 currently in the hospital, with 139 of these in intensive care. This is 40 less than yesterday, with three less ICU admissions. In the North Zone, 64 are hospitalized with seven of these people in intensive care.  

In Grande Prairie, eight new cases of COVID-19 were added, and ten people recovered. There are now 128 active cases and 724 recoveries. 

In the County of Grande Prairie, two recoveries and two cases were added, leaving the active total at 33. Recoveries have now reached 222.
