The Teepee Creek Stampede Association announced today that the 104th annual rodeo scheduled for July 9-12 has been cancelled.

This is the first time the stampede has ever been cancelled since it began in 1917.

The board of directors said in a letter, "Our mission to grow and build on the rich heritage of the Teepee Creek Stampede while working to bring pride and camaraderie to the community, all while enhancing social welfare has been at forefront of our minds. After much consideration the Teepee Creek Stampede association has made the difficult decision to cancel the 104th Teepee Creek Stampede Scheduled for July 9th-12th 2020.

"It is only because of the hard work of our volunteers, the commitment of our sponsors, and the dedication of our fans that we have been able to continue for 103 years.

"This is an unprecedented circumstance we face and for the first time since its inception in 1917 we are saddened that we will not be coming together this summer. In addition to current government COVID-19 restrictions we also feel an indisputable responsibility to the health and safety of our entire rodeo family."

They are currently assesing their options going forward and will be back with another event as soon as they are able.
