With babies using up to 70 diapers a week, the cost to provide this vital care item can be staggering for struggling families. To assist, the County of Grande Prairie is running its second annual Diaper Drive from November 19 to 30.

Residents can drop off cloth or disposable diapers of any size and related hygiene items such as wipes and diaper cream at various locations throughout the County or make donations online.

“With the Christmas season right around the corner, the diaper drive donations will help alleviate the financial burden on families,” said Lindsey Hennigar, Peace Officer.

“Disposable and cloth diapers and baby change supplies are essential products for young children in our community and we’re pleased to help collect these goods.”

Full details on making contributions can be found at www.countygp.ab.ca/diaperdrive.

The County’s Regional Enforcement Services is coordinating the initiative and will pick up donations from drop-off locations and deliver them to food banks in Beaverlodge, Clairmont, Hythe, Sexsmith and Wembley for families in need.
