On Wednesday (Oct 4), a group of brave Alberta business and community leaders were taken by STARS to an undisclosed remote location where they had to raise enough money to secure their flight back to civilization.
STARS Rescue in the North, presented by Hammerhead Resources, was a fundraising event that featured six participants who, through adventure, friendly competition and fun medical, aviation and endurance challenges, had to raise money for STARS using their mobile phones and personal networks.
This year is the first year a “Rescue” event was held in Grande Prairie, the home of STARS’ northernmost base.
This year’s brave participants included, Allen Caron, President & CEO, Caron Measurements & Controls Ltd.; Brent North, Owner, North Realty; Dustin Hoffman, Chief Operating Officer, Pipestone Energy; Jeremy St. Laurent, Owner, Liquid Edge Oilfield; Paul Driedger, Corporate Manager & Estimator, FTEN Group of Companies Inc.; Rob Adair, Division, VP, Horizon North.
The campaign has raised almost $600,000.
