St. Patrick Catholic school in Grande Prairie celebrated the grand re-opening and blessing on Monday, October 23rd.
The school was originally built in 1978, and had to close its doors in 2017 due to mold, and was demolished in 2020.
The program started with opening prayers and blessing was dedicated by Archbishop Gerard Pettipas and Elder Loretta Parenteau-English.
Local and provincial dignitaries also attended the ceremony, including Education Minister Demetrios Nicolaides, local MLA Nolan Dyck, city council, and Mayor Jackie Clayton.
Premier Danielle Smith sent her regards in a letter which was read by Principal Shelley LaCroix.
284 students from the areas of Highland Park, Swanavon, Southview, Country Club West, Country Club Estates, Patterson, and South Patterson attend the new school.
