Natalie Grant says she's grateful she will recover but is thinking of others, after announcing a COVID-19 diagnosis.
The 'Your Great Name' singer says she's feeling "terribly achy, extra tired, can’t taste anything and just super bleh," in an online post Tuesday evening announcing the diagnosis.
"Well, a positive Covid test wasn’t in the plan, but here we are," she says.
Grant says that she is not having any breathing or lung issues among a list of things she's grateful for. She says her husband is taking care of their children while she isolates at home, and her church family has been surrounding her with support.
"My thoughts are with those who have it and are alone," she writes. "I’m thinking of those right now that are having so much difficulty breathing, and are afraid. My heart is with the single parent that has this stupid virus and is panicked about who is going to take care of their kids. I mean, how do you even isolate? So then you’re afraid of getting your kids sick. Single parents - you’re heroes."
Grant also says she's thinking of others who've lost loved ones to the novel coronavirus.
"And for all of you that have lost someone you love to this, I’m just so sorry. Most of you never even got the chance to say goodbye and I’m grieving with you. So yeah, I have Covid. But somehow I’m feeling incredibly blessed in the midst of it all."
Grant has asked for prayer for her daughter Gracie who has asthma.
The Nashville-based singer underwent thyroid surgery in 2017 after doctors became concerned over tumours on her thyroid nodule. The surgery, which had posed a risk to her vocal cords, was considered a success, with doctors removing two cancerous nodules. Grant is considered to be cancer-free.
