A snowfall warning is in effect for Grande Prairie and area. Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Grande Prairie- Beaverlodge – Valleyview region.  A total of 15 to 20 centimetres of snow is expected by Saturday night.

The weather office says that heavy snow is forecasted to begin late this afternoon near the B.C./Alberta border and will then move northeastwards throughout central Alberta Friday night. Snow will continue into Saturday before ending Saturday night.

Drivers are warned that visibility could be suddenly reduced by heavy snow. If that’s the case, they’re reminded to turn on their lights and keep a safe following distance.

The warning includes Beaverlodge, Valleyview and the County of Grande Prairie. The warning extends south to Grande Cache and Jasper.
