County crews dedicated to residential snow removal began clearing this morning.

Crews are currently clearing in the Hamlet of Clairmont from 100 Ave to 113 Ave.

New this season, the residential snow removal process, including parking restrictions to allow for clearing, has been extended to the Hamlet of Hythe. Snow clearing in the community also began this morning.

During heavy snowfall, temporary parking restrictions are put in place 24 hours in advance, when possible, and “No Parking” signage will be posted at entrances to the area. When “No Parking” signs are visible, parking on roadways and streets will not be permitted between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Temporary parking restrictions are in effect in these areas from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Once clearing is complete, crews will move onto the subdivisions of Whispering Ridge and Westlake Estates in Clairmont, followed by Wedgewood, Taylor Estates, and Maple Ridge.

Residents are encouraged to subscribe to stay in the know about snow removal at www.countygp.ab.ca/snowremoval. As crews make progress clearing in these residential areas and new temporary parking restrictions are put in place, updates will be emailed to webpage subscribers and applied to the interactive web map.

Vehicles left on the street when a parking restriction is in place may be ticketed and/or towed. Residents are reminded that piling snow onto roadways is illegal and could result in a $100 fine, as it slows the snow clearing process and creates a traffic safety hazard.
