County crews dedicated to residential snow removal will begin clearing in the Hamlet of Clairmont from 100 Avenue to 107A Avenue tomorrow morning (Feb. 2).

Temporary parking restrictions will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. After completing snow removal in the area, crews will move onto Whispering Ridge and Westlake Estates in Clairmont, then to the subdivisions of Wedgewood, Maple Ridge, Taylor Estates, and then Clairmont from 107A Avenue to 113 Avenue.

During heavy snowfall, temporary parking restrictions are put in place 24 hours in advance, when possible, and “No Parking” signage will be posted at entrances to the area. When “No Parking” signs are visible, parking on roadways and streets will not be permitted between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

People can stay in the know about residential snow removal, including current or upcoming parking restrictions, by visiting the interactive web map at www.countygp.ab.ca/snowremoval.

Vehicles left on the street when a parking restriction is in place may be ticketed and/or towed. Residents are reminded that piling snow onto roadways is illegal and punishable by a $100 fine, as it slows the snow clearing process and creates a traffic safety hazard.
