With strong and gusty winds expected today the wildfire danger in the Slave Lake Forest Area has climbed to HIGH.

Firefighters urge everyone to use caution when working or recreating in areas of dead grass. The dead grass will ignite easily and under these windy conditions a fire will spread quickly.
