In Alberta today (Dec. 10), 1,566 new cases of COVID-19 were added, along with 1,589 recoveries. 

The province completed 16,793 tests, for a positivity rate of about 9%. Active cases are now at 20,163 and recoveries at 54,225. 

Thirteen more deaths were reported, for a total of 666 since the start of the pandemic. Hospitalizations went down by three since yesterday to 682, with 124 in intensive care, an increase of three. In the North, there are 35 people in the hospital with four admitted to the ICU.  

In Grande Prairie, five new cases were added, four people recovered and one person died. This is the City’s sixth COVID-related death and was a man in his 60s linked to the outbreak at Elders Caring Shelter Society. There are still 112 active cases and 463 recoveries.  

In the County, two people recovered and two new cases were added, leaving the active total at 19 with 169 recoveries.
