On July 23, 2022 at approximately 8:30 a.m., Grande Prairie RCMP responded to a report of a single vehicle collision at Range Road 74 and Highway 59 near Sexsmith, Alta.

Upon arrival RCMP investigation indicated that the truck had been stolen overnight from Grande Prairie. The driver of the truck had reportedly fled the scene on foot. RCMP located and arrested the driver a short time later hiding in a vehicle on a nearby property.

During a search of the suspect officers located a stolen wallet, numerous stolen financial institution cards, 2 grams of methamphetamine, two knives and a can of bear spray.

Chase Glodek (18) of Grande Prairie, Alta. has been charged with several charges including:

·         Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle

·         Mischief over $5,000

·         Possession of Property obtained by crime over $5,000

·         Possession of Property obtained by crime under $5,000

·         Possession of a controlled substance

·         Fail to comply with a release order x 5

Following a judicial interim release hearing Glodek was released from custody to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court Aug. 10, 2022.
