UPDATE:
Highway 40 just south of Grovedale re-opened late Sunday evening following a serious motor vehicle collision.
One person was airlifted to an Edmonton hospital via STARS in serious condition. There were 4 semi trucks involved in the collision.

Grande Prairie RCMP are currently on scene at a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 40, approximately 20 minutes south of Grovedale, Alta.
The collision is between a semi truck and a pick-up. RCMP, EMS and Fire are currently on scene. Injuries are unknown at this time. There are numerous logging trucks and semis parked on the side of the road and traffic cannot pass through the area at this time.
511.alberta.ca reports that a vehicle is on fire as a result of the motor vehicle collision.
RCMP are asking motorists to avoid the area.
