The Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) announced on Sunday (Jan. 31) that there has been a another positive COVID-19 case found in an individual from Whispering Ridge Community School (WRCS).

The first case was announced on Thursday, Jan. 28 and was last at school on Jan. 27.

The latest person was last at school on Jan. 28. All WRCS families and staff received the information yesterday.

The identified close contacts must isolate at home until:

  • Thursday, Feb. 11, for those identified as being within close contact of the case on Jan. 27.
  • Friday, Feb. 12, for those identified as being within close contact of the case on Jan. 28.

Remote learning opportunities will be provided for the students who have to isolate.

Necessary measures are being taken to prevent spread to staff and students. Disinfection of the school has taken place. Anyone who has not been identified as a close contact will still be able to attend school in-person.
