High Prairie School Division (HPSD) has let people know that someone recently in Prairie River Junior High School (PRJHS) has tested positive for COVID-19.

Because of this, they are taking the precautionary measure of delaying re-entry to the school of the grade seven students. Classes were to start today at the school for just grade seven students, as part of their staggered return to school. Sept. 1 was to be grade eight students only, and Sept. 2 grade nine only.

HPSD will be staying in contact with parents as they wait for more information from Alberta Health Services.

PRJHS says, “We thank you for your patience as we work together to support our students, staff and community.”
