Famed Christian singer Sandi Patty has announced that she has contracted COVID-19.
Patty made the announcement on her social media on Tuesday.
She says that she and her family are quarantined at home. She urged everyone to practice social distancing.
"We must do our part," Patty says. "If you are not social distancing and staying home, do so now!"
The singer, also known as 'the voice' because of her powerful range, also says that following the advice of the medical community does not mean one is compromising their faith. "God has given us faith, but he’s also given us wisdom. Be well and wise!"

Patty sent out an update on day 2 of her quarantine, saying they are starting to feel a bit better.
She once again urged everyone to take COVID-19 seriously.
"The truth is we hear 'older' population and it didn’t really connect in with me and don that we ARE the older population," she writes on Instagram. "We don’t see ourselves as old. You know. We just don’t."
Patty also urges children of older adults to be patient. "And if you are the kids of the fierce and fabulously 'seasoned' olders, be patient with us. But nudge us. And y’all stay sequestered too. You might now have symptoms of this virus but you can still be a carrier. It’s gonna take all of us to do our part."
