The Kettle Campaign fund is currently sitting at about $343,000 of the $500,000 goal. The $500,000 is the amount that the Salvation Army needs for it's entire year of programs. The money goes to cover the food bank and the soup kitchen.

The people who are using the soup kitchen and food bank are from all walks of life - both young and old - anyone who needs food around this time of year. So far this season, the Salvation Army has been able to make about 1000 hampers, about 500 of which have been handed out already.

The Salvation Army still needs donations. This is their most major fundraiser of the year. They appreciate all the donations that have been made so far.

You can give at the kettles, through the mail outs, online at salvationarmygp.ca or in person at the Salvation Army Grande Prairie.

They are also still in need of volunteers this Thursday and Saturday for 14 Kettle shifts. Call 780-538-2848 to volunteer.

They would like to thank the whole community for giving generously.
