Recently, the Peace River Out of the Cold Shelter announced that the Sagitawa Friendship Society has taken over the day-to-day operation of the shelter as of Apr. 30.

In addition, they have received COVID-19 emergency response funding from The National Association of Friendship Centres and Alberta Rural Development Network which is enough to run the shelter until Oct. 31. They will continue to run the shelter into the winter months.

To help with operations during the pandemic, they are recruiting for four positions and reaching out to their volunteers.

An opening date will be announced soon.

Peace River Out of the Cold Shelter is an overnight low barrier shelter in the Peace River area.
