During April the Rotary Dream Home Lottery dedicated 50% of every Dream Home ticket sold to regional food banks via the “Rotary Club of Grande Prairie COVID-19 Rapid Relief Fund”. In all $271,790 in cheques were issued and put to use at foodbanks in NW Alberta.

With the Dream Home over for another year the Club has announced they’re not stopping yet.

Melissa Coulombe is a Rotarian and the Chair of the Rapid Relief Fund Committee and says “The community is asking for it. They have been reaching out to us with 'How can we help?' We’ve had individuals and businesses both want to be part of this. So, yes, we will continue with the fund for as long as there is a need.”

The Club is offering to match the first $25,000 in donations. These proceeds come from earlier fundraisers the club has done.

Proceeds will go to Food Banks throughout NW Alberta. Official tax receipts will be offered, all details and donations may be made at gprotary.com/projects/rapid-relief-fund.

Coulombe says “It has been so gratifying to see people buying Dream home tickets this past month in support of our efforts including the Rapid Relief Fund.  We’re excited to continue the momentum. Our fund may offer other areas it can support, donors will be able to check areas they want to see their dollars go to. As you can imagine this is coming together quickly.”
