The generosity of the Peace Country shone through once again during the 12th annual Rising Above Share-a-thon on September 21.  At 6pm on Wednesday, the fundraising total was sitting at $112,058.18 with more funds expected to come in over the next couple of days.

Every last dollar of these funds will go towards helping local people in our region. 

Rising Above H.E.L.P.S. people break cycles of defeat.

Housing - Safe housing 19 beds for men, 17 beds for women, 15 beds second stage. (51 beds all together)

Employment – Job readiness training at partner agencies, Mission Thrift, Habitat Re-store, Salvation Army.

Life-skills - 9 hours a week, Courses on Healthy Relationships. Anger Management, Goal Setting, Self-Esteem, Job Readiness, Depression, Addictions, Attitudes, etc.

Personal Development – Inner healing and individual support to help deal with the deeper emotional issues.

Spiritual Formation - Helping people connect with God at a deep and personal level.

Rising Above is a non-profit organization operating in Grande Prairie, providing residential treatment to both men and woman, and inner healing to those in the program and community, helping them to break cycles of defeat. The organization is also developing relationships to begin working in Fort St. John and Peerless Trout First Nation.
