Following the recent announcement from the Province, the City of Grande Prairie is implementing new measures for a number of City facilities starting today.

These new measures are an additional step in ensuring the health and safety of City staff, customers and the community. They are in addition to the other Provincial health measures such as barriers, mandatory masking, increased sanitization, etc. that have been in place throughout the pandemic.

Starting September 20, the following City facilities will be adopting the Government of Alberta’s Restriction Exemption Program (REP) and will require individuals aged 12 and older, unless within a youth user group, to provide proof of vaccination, a recent negative test result, or documentation of medical exemption:

•Eastlink Centre

•Coca-Cola Centre

•Bonnetts Energy Centre

•Dave Barr Community Centre

During this initial phase of the program, participants should plan to arrive at facilities earlier than normal as staff will be required to review and verify patron’s required documentation.

For a list of what forms of proof are required, visit the Restriction Exemption Program info on alberta.ca/covid.

The City is aware that the AHS system is experiencing a significant backlog. Residents are encouraged to get their paperwork as quick as possible as facilities exercise flexibility over the course of the first week of implementation.
