The City of Grande Prairie is encouraging residents to celebrate Neighbour Day on Saturday, September 16 by hosting community activities.

“Creating relationships with neighbours allows us to develop a strong and connected community,” said City of Grande Prairie Mayor, Jackie Clayton. “City Council encourages residents to reach out, introduce yourself to someone new, lend a helping hand or complete a random act of kindness to build new connections.”

Some examples of fun, easy activities neighbourhoods can organize include:

·       A community barbecue, picnic or potluck.

·       A driveway or sidewalk art competition using sidewalk chalk.

·       Invite a neighbour over for coffee.

·       Have a yard sale.

·       Fill our the Know your Neighbour Card.

·       Do a garden tour party.

·       Start a walking or running group.
