County of Grande Prairie crews dedicated to residential snow removal will begin clearing the morning of Wednesday, December 28, 2022.

Snow removal crews will clear the Hamlet of Hythe and Clairmont's Whispering Ridge and Westlake Village subdivisions, beginning Wednesday. Parking restrictions will be in place between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Crews will move onto other residential areas, including Clairmont from 100 Ave to 116 Ave, Wedgewood, Taylor Estates and Maple Ridge, with progress depending on weather conditions and garbage collection days.

As crews make progress clearing in these residential areas and new temporary parking restrictions are put in place, updates will be emailed to webpage subscribers and appear on the interactive web map.

Motorists are reminded to watch the digital “No Parking” signs when entering select residential areas in the County, including the Hamlet of Hythe, the subdivisions of Wedgewood, Maple Ridge and Taylor Estates, as well as Whispering Ridge, Westlake Village and 116 Ave to 100 Ave in the Hamlet of Clairmont. When the signs are lit, temporary parking restrictions are in place and street parking is not permitted between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Vehicles left on the street when a parking restriction is in place may be ticketed and/or towed. Residents are reminded that piling snow onto roadways is illegal and could result in a $100 fine, as it slows the snow clearing process and creates a traffic safety hazard.

This residential snow removal process including temporary parking restrictions is in place in neighbourhoods or communities with a concrete curb and gutter, and street parking. Snow removal in rural areas, and other County subdivisions with ditches along the road like Carriage Lane and Goldenrod Estates, are on a separate schedule.
