All County of Grande Prairie Regional Fire Service stations were kept busy supporting community safety with two separate structure fires on February 2.

The first incident around 9:20 a.m. was in the Teepee Creek area. A piece of electrical equipment on fire was extinguished by responding crews with no further damage to the home.

Later around 2:00 p.m., the Horse Lake Fire Department responded to a structure fire located south of Demmitt, followed by crews from County Regional Fire Service. An active fire was discovered under a manufactured home and quickly extinguished, with damage limited by emergency crews.

No injuries were reported at either incident. The cause of both fires are under investigation by the County Fire Marshal.
