County of Grande Prairie Council acclaimed Division 5 Councillor Bob Marshall as Reeve and elected Division 7 Councillor Brian Peterson as Deputy Reeve at today’s organizational meeting.
“I’m humbled by the support of my fellow Councillors and honoured to continue to serve as Reeve,” said Bob Marshall.
Newly appointed Deputy Reeve Brian Peterson agrees.
“This Council already has a positive and productive working relationship,” he said. “I’m proud to be able to use my skills and experience to support our work ensuring the County remains a great place for residents and business to live, work, and thrive.”
Reeve Marshall has served on County Council since 2013 as Councillor for Division 5 and was first elected as Reeve in 2022. Councillor Brian Peterson was first elected to Council in 2021.
Members of Council and Administration expressed gratitude to outgoing Deputy Reeve Peter Harris for his steadfast support and guidance since being elected to the position in 2019. Councillor Harris will continue to represent Division 6.
County Council holds an organizational meeting every October to elect a Reeve and Deputy Reeve, as well as to appoint members of Council to committees.
A complete list of committee appointments will be available by the end of the week at www.countygp.ab.ca/committees.
