The Alberta RCMP Forestry Crimes Unit, in collaboration with Alberta Forestry and Parks, is investigating multiple suspicious fires for the County of Grande Prairie and City of Grande Prairie Fire Departments. Public assistance is sought for information regarding the following incidents:

Between April 29, 2024, and May 10, 2024, eight suspicious fires were investigated at the Grande Prairie Golf and Country Club. These fires occurred on the golf course property, which has direct access to the Bear Creek trail system. All fires were extinguished by the fire department and club patrons.

On May 23, 2024, at approximately 9:18 p.m., a fire was detected along the trail system in South Bear Creek Park. This fire is being treated as suspicious by the Alberta RCMP FCU.

On May 31, 2024, at approximately 12:23 a.m., a fire was reported on Resources Road near the Grande Prairie Golf and Country Club. The Alberta RCMP FCU investigated the suspicious fire and is requesting dash camera footage from May 30, 2024, between 11:00 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. on May 31, 2024.

On June 1, 2024, at approximately 12:28 a.m., a second fire was reported on Resources Road near the Grande Prairie Golf and Country Club. The Alberta RCMP FCU is also investigating this suspicious fire and is seeking dash camera footage from May 31, 2024, between 11:00 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. on June 1, 2024.
