RCMP say there could be changes to some services in light of the spread of COVID-19.

They say detachments and offices may defer or arrange to provide alternatives for certain services normally delivered in a Detachment.

That could include front counter services for reporting non-injury vehicle collisions, providing statements, fingerprinting for Criminal Records checks. RCMP say those services may be deferred to help maintain social distancing as prescribed by Alberta Health.

“Public safety is our top priority,” the Alberta RCMP said in a news release. “The Alberta RCMP thanks the public for their patience during these exceptional circumstances.”

Before proceeding to a detachment, Mounties say residents should phone the administrative line to verify which services are available.

The number for the Grande Prairie RCMP detachment is (780) 830-5700. For all other detachments, click HERE.

As always, if you are feeling unwell or are experiencing any of the symptoms consistent with COVID-19, RCMP ask residents please stay at home.
