There is a rainfall warning for the B.C. Peace River, especially regions near the Rockies.

A weather system will stall over the B.C. Peace River region and bring a prolonged period of rain. Rain will start late this afternoon and persist to Saturday night, with 30 to 50 mm expected. Regions near the Rockies are expecting the highest rainfall amounts, total of 60 to 80 mm.

Heavy rainfall on top of pre-existing saturated soils can exacerbate vulnerable landscapes and enhance the risk of localized flooding.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
