PWPSD schools honoured the 38th anniversary of the Terry Fox Run with fundraising campaigns and school run events this fall, generating a total of $50,028.80 for cancer research, up slightly over last year's $49,460.22.

Whispering Ridge Community School was this year's top fundraising school, collecting $7,619.70 for the cause. Beaverlodge Elementary School followed closely with $7,295.00. Wembley Elementary School (WES) rounded out the top three, raising $4,683.60.

Despite less than ideal weather for their walk around the town of Wembley on Friday, October 12, Principal Holly Gould said WES students knew that Terry was out there, rain or shine. As a reward for exceeding their $4,000 goal, Ms. Gould will dress as a superhero for a day on Thursday, October 18.

Many thanks to all PWPSD students for your efforts to support cancer research.
