The County of Grande Prairie is calling on all budding artists eight years of age or older to take part in Art for the Park, a project to help beautify the Clairmont Adventure Park.

From May 12 to June 12, 2020, the public can submit original pieces of art for possible display at the Clairmont Adventure Park.

“Our goal is to enhance the Park as a place for residents to gather,” said Christine Rawlins, Parks and Recreation Manager. “This project benefits those who participate by sharing something personal and meaningful with their community, and the County by having original art that enhances the Park, making it more inviting.”

Individuals may submit one or more complete works of art, and one or more art concepts to beautify the fences around the Clairmont Adventure Park. Each participating artist will be entered into a draw to win one of four $100 cash prizes. A panel of judges from the County of Grande Prairie will select the artwork and concepts that will be displayed. The winning art pieces selected will be announced in summer 2020. Details about Art for the Park are available at countygp.ab.ca/artforthepark.

The Clairmont Adventure Park, built in 2014, is located at 9801 - 107A Avenue in Clairmont, and is home to a skate park, spray park, outdoor exercise equipment and greenspace.

The Skate Park is open with safety regulations in place to align with Province’s public health orders around the COVID-19 pandemic.

This summer, the County is also enhancing the Park, which includes repairing the spray park and working with the Clairmont Gardeners community group to build a raised-bed community garden. Updates on the Park will be posted at countygp.ab.ca/adventurepark.
