As Hurricane Michael grew to the largest hurricane to ever hit the Florida panhandle, officers in its path stopped to pray before starting their shifts.

Officers in the Leon County Sheriff's Office prayed together on Tuesday evening before heading out. The moment was shared on the Sheriff's office social media.

"If you don't mind, say a prayer for all of the men and women working to keep our community safe," the post asked.

Hurricane Michael hit the Florida panhandle Wednesday afternoon at Mexico Beach. It was the first-ever Category 4 hurricane to make landfall in that part of Florida. It brought with it 155 mph winds.
