Penson School is extremely grateful to NuVista Energy Ltd. for its recent $8,000 donation, which has been used to purchase a new high jump mat.

Penson School Principal Nicole Gillies says the donation was a wonderful surprise. “We weren’t expecting NuVista to reach out to us about a donation. They asked us if we needed anything for the school, so we got together as a staff to share some ideas; ultimately it was decided that our students could benefit from a new high jump mat.” Educational Assistant Tara Szmul joked that the old mat needed to go and that she remembers using it as a young Penson student.

On April 9, Rhonda Kokosha and Monte Line of NuVista Energy Ltd. stopped by Penson School to visit students and staff who proudly showed off their new equipment. “We are very proud to be able to donate to our local schools, and it’s so nice to see how it benefits the students,” says Rhonda. Since the beginning of this school year, NuVista Energy Ltd. has donated more than $20,000 to Peace Wapiti Public School Division schools.
