Each year, we gather on November 11th to remember and honour Canada's fallen Veterans and those who continue to serve today.  

Please join your local community on Saturday November 11 to remember.  

 

Here are some events happening throughout the Peace Region: 

Grande Prairie: 

Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans (ANAVETS) Grande Prairie Unit 389 will be hosting a Remembrance Day Ceremony at the Cenotaph at Jubilee Park on 100th Street. 

Parade starts at 10:30 am from Trinity Lutheran Church and proceeds south to the Cenotaph. 

All are welcome to the luncheon at the Golden Age Centre (10222-101 Ave) to follow the parade. 

There will also be a pancake breakfast at Trinity Lutheran Church starting at 8:30am prior to the parade. 

 

Grande Prairie Legion Branch #54 will be hosting a Remembrance Day Ceremony on November 11th at the Bonnett’s Energy Centre starting at 10:30 am. 

There will be refreshments at the GP Legion starting at 12:30 pm with activities and entertainment to follow.  

 

Sexsmith: 

The service will be held at the Civic Centre at 10 am (99 Ave). All are welcome.  

 

Wembley: 

The Remembrance Day Ceremony will be held at the Cenotaph - 9940-101 Street to start at 10:45am.  

This is an outdoor event - please dress accordingly.  Area will be blocked off from traffic at the time of ceremony. 

 

Beaverlodge: 

The Beaverlodge Legion Branch #121 will be hosting a service in the Community Centre. 

The parade forms up at the Elementary School and leaves at 10:30 am. 

The service starts promptly at 10:50 am. 

 

Hythe: 

The Remembrance Day Service will be hosted by the Hythe Legion (10212 100 Ave). The doors open at 10:00 am with the service starting at 10:50 am.  

Following service there will be a cold lunch by donation, everyone is welcome to attend and stay for lunch.  

There will be fellowship and entertainment to follow in the lounge.  

 

Fort St. John: 

The Fort St. John Royal Canadian Legion Branch 102 is hosting the annual Remembrance Day Parade and Service.

The parade will start at 10 am from the Cenotaph on 102 Street and 105 Avenue, marching past the Royal Canadian Legion to City Hall and returning to the Cenotaph.

The inside service will begin at 11 am, followed by lunch, games and dinner. All ages are welcome to attend.

Road closures will start at 8:30 and will end near 11:30 am.

Service groups marching in the parade will line up on 102 Street and into the School District 60 Office rear parking lot.

Spectators are encouraged to view the parade along 105 Avenue and 100 Street.

 

Dawson Creek: 

There will be a ceremony and flag-raising at the Unchagah Hall.  

Residents are encouraged to be in their seats by 10:30 a.m., service starts at 10:45 am.
