COVID-19 cases are up again in Alberta.

Premier Jason Kenney says it's not necessarily bad news.

"The combined number of confirmed and probable infections here in Alberta increased by 239 over the past 24 hours," he says. "There has been a substantial increase in confirmed cases in the last few days because we have been, once again, stepping up testing and that is a good thing."

The number of recovered cases is now at 1,124.

There are now 358 cases linked to the outbreak at Cargill involving multiple connected households.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw says Alberta Health Services has put together a dedicated outbreak response team to track the High River outbreak and to prevent further infections at any locations where transmission is occurring.

High River residents who think they may have been exposed to COVID-19 and want to get tested can do so over the next two days.

AHS and the Calgary rural primary care network has set up a testing hub at the culture centre, next to the Charles Clark Medical Centre for Saturday April 18 and Sunday April 19.

The testing will be done by appointment only, by calling (403) 652-1654 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m..
