The father of two victims of the mass shooting in an El Paso Wal Mart has publicly forgiven the killer.

Gilbert Anchondo lost his youngest son, Andre, and his daughter-in-law in the massacre that claimed 22 lives and left scores more injured.

Anchondo says, “I forgive him because he was not in his senses. He had the devil inside of him. I’m a great believer and I forgive what he did."

On the morning of the tragic event, Anchondo says, “I saw my son and his wife. Jordan was closing the door. Andre was carrying his newborn baby in his arms. They were getting ready to leave,” reports CBN News.

Anchondo says, “I have a regret. I didn’t stop and give him a hug, a blessing and a kiss. But I saw them happy. I didn’t want to bother them, burst the bubble of happiness.”

Anchondo's son and daughter-in-law, Jordan, have three children together — their two-month-old son was in the arms of his mother when she was gunned down in cold blood. Incredibly, the little one survived.

A GoFundMe has since been launched to support and supplement the future expenses of the three Anchondo children who were left behind.
