The province has added 474 new cases of COVID-19 today (Jan. 18), from 8,592 tests completed, for a positivity rate of about 5.4%. 

Right now, 11,923 cases are active in the province. With 774 more people recovering, the recovered total has reached 103,941. 

There’s 739 people in the hospital with the virus, with 120 of these in intensive care. This is one more hospitalization than reported yesterday, and three fewer ICU admissions. In the North Zone, there’s 73 people in the hospital with eight of these admitted to intensive care. 

Alberta has reported 11 more COVID-related deaths, for a total of 1,447 since the start of the pandemic.  

There have now been 89,814 vaccines administered. 

In the City of Grande Prairie, seven new cases were added, and nine people recovered. The death of a woman in her 60s was reported, connected to the outbreak at Prairie Lakes Supportive Living. The active total is 190 with 816 recoveries and 14 total deaths. 

In the County of Grande Prairie, one case was added, and one person recovered. There’s now 51 active cases and 250 recoveries.
