The Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) announced today that there has been a positive COVID-19 case found in an individual from Whispering Ridge Community School (WRCS).    

Administration at PWPSD were notified yesterday (Oct. 26) by Alberta Health Services (AHS) and a letter was sent to all WRCS families and posted online.    

The school is still open for in-person learning, and necessary measures are being taken to prevent spread to staff and students. The school was disinfected Monday night to prepare for school today. Anyone who has not been identified as a close contact is still attending school in-person.   

To respect their privacy, the person’s name won’t be released. AHS is following up with close contacts directly.   

Parents are also reminded to go through the daily symptom checklist with their students, as are staff, visitors and volunteers for themselves. The list can be found HERE.
