One Conference, held every January in Edmonton, will be taking a one-year hiatus in light of these uncertain times.

They share, "This is the season when we are typically booking venues, speakers and worship artists and given the current situation, that is simply not possible. It’s also the season when we are talking to church leaders about the kinds of topics they’d like to see addressed at the conference. Right now, pastors and leaders have no idea what kinds of things we will need to be talking about in 10 days, let alone 10 months. None of us have ever done this before. None of us can predict where this is going. But it’s very unlikely that a large event will be possible or even helpful."

While the conference will not take place in January 2021, the One Conference team will not be idle.

"Over the next months our energy and resources will be going not into planning a large event, but into supporting and encouraging pastors and leaders and Christians across the country in whatever ways we can. We will use our network to gather the church digitally."

The 2020 conference sessions are available to watch at watch.intothecastle.com/one-1

Their prayer in this time is "That we, the church, will be the church."

The One Conference Team is offering this encouraging word from Billy Graham:

In the sermon excerpt, Graham says:

Habakkuk said, “Lord please tell me what you’re doing.” And God said, “No, I’m not going to tell you, Habakkuk. Because if I told you what I was doing you wouldn’t believe it.”

If God today told us what He’s doing in the world, we wouldn’t believe it. Don’t you think God’s given up, and God’s abdicated, and God’s left the throne. He hasn’t. He’s still on the throne.

And those of us that know Him put our trust in Him and Him alone. I don’t put my trust in Washington. I don’t put my trust in the United Nations. I don’t put my trust in myself. I don’t put trust in my money.

put my trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. When all the rest of it fails and crumbles and shatters, He’ll be there.
